Oscar & Hugo (bonded pair)

Oscar and Hugo are a bonded, orange tabby with white, neutered male pair that need to be placed in an indoor home together. They are not the same age, but are probably related as possible half-siblings, and their foster mom refers to them as the "twins" because of their coat color and markings. Oscar and Hugo came from the same cat colony that were mostly ginger orange tabbies or calicos. Oscar is a domestic long haired (DLH) neutered male cat with a majestic plume for a tail who is estimated to be about 3 years old in July 2026. Oscar is initially shy but sweet, and enjoys pets once he is comfortable with you. Oscar also loves to be brushed. <br/><br/>On the other paw, Hugo is a domestic short haired (DSH) neutered male cat estimated to be about 2 years old as of July 2026. Hugo is the outgoing, playful and cuddly one of the pair, and the adoption of Hugo with Oscar should ease the transition for Oscar into a new, calm home with a patient, cat-savvy adopter who has reasonable expectations that adjusting to a new home will take time.<br/><br/>These two males are quirky, silly, hilarious and entertaining! Full of personality. They need a home without children and with an experienced cat daddy / momma who will give them time and space to adjust to a new home, and they are well worth the wait to welcome the pair into your life.<br/><br/>Oscar and Hugo, and 13 other cats were living outside in an Otter Tail County, MN trailer park. These cats were being fed and had appropriate outdoor shelters, but the new manager of the trailer park demanded that the shelters be removed and for the cats to no longer be fed. A deadline in the middle of a very cold January 2025 was given where the cat caregivers faced eviction, OR inhumane methods of cat population control would be put in place. A frantic, time-dependent cat live-trapping project began, and all 15 cats were safely trapped and removed from the location to several different animal rescue groups or independent cat rescuers. They survived without food or appropriate shelter for 2 days during a polar vortex as their food source and outdoor shelters had been removed. Oscar and Hugo were the last of the colony cats to be live-trapped, and they both went into the same live-trap together. Therefore, they need to be adopted together.<br/><br/>Neutered; vaccinated; both tested negative for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV); and both are litter box trained.<br/><br/>Need to be adopted together. Adoption fee for the pair is partially sponsored by the rescuer.<br/><br/>Location: Detroit Lakes, MN area, but transport to the Fargo, ND - Moorhead, MN area or 1 hour from Detroit Lakes, MN can be arranged.
