OREO*'s Story

Meet Oreo, the orange kitty! Oreo came into the Shelter as a “father” of an accidental litter. His offspring and female partner have been adopted. Oreo went to a home but was a little too clingy with the resident cat. If she was up on the windowsill, Oreo wanted to be right with her. If she was going to get food, so was Oreo. It just wasn’t gelling with the resident kitty and causing her some stress. Oreo is looking for a home that will embrace his nature of falling hard in love. He does enjoy attention from people and is very social but can be more motivated to interact with his environment and play, versus cuddling up on someone’s lap. He LOVES playing with wand toys. In his first home, He can be chatty so if you are looking for a quiet cat, this may not be your guy. Oreo lived in a home with a Great Pyrenees dog. He was indoors only and used the litterbox reliably. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
