Opal / Pearl's Story

Hi, we are Pearl and Opal, a very special pair of 3-year-old sisters looking for a quiet and loving forever home where we can continue to grow at our own pace.

I'm Opal. I'm the more expressive and goofy one, and I love having little conversations with my trusted humans. I am still learning that gentle pets and head scritches feel really nice, and I am starting to enjoy them more and more as I build trust.

I'm Pearl. I have beautiful blue eyes and I am deaf, which just means I experience the world a little differently. I love cozy, safe places to rest and I enjoy exploring quietly, especially at night when things are calm and peaceful. Because I am deaf, I just need people who are mindful of approaching me calmly so I am not startled. Otherwise, I do not need any special care, just patience and understanding.

We are very bonded sisters and you will often find us together. We groom each other, sleep curled up into one soft ball of white fur, and share our favorite lounging spots. We enjoy watching the world from windows, playing with catnip toys and ball tracks, and spending time observing our humans with great interest.

We do like affection from people we trust, but we need time. In a new home, we will need a long and patient decompression period before we fully show our personalities. Once we feel safe, we allow pets and enjoy gentle companionship, but we move at our own pace.

Right now, we live in a quiet home with one adult foster and two teenagers, and we are doing well in that calm environment. We are looking for something similar in our forever home. A small, peaceful, predictable space with lots of sunny windows would be ideal for us.

We would do best in a home with no children and no other pets, although we have peacefully coexisted with other calm cats who respect our space. Our perfect humans will understand shy cats and appreciate the beauty of watching trust slowly grow over time.

If you are looking for two quiet, sweet souls to share your home and your heart, we might be the perfect pair for you.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates.

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat?
