Onyx's Story

Meet Onyx!

Onyx came to us in August of 2025, at which he was estimated to be about 2 years old. His first few days with us, it was obvious that Onyx was shut down, only finding comfort in small spaces. He came to us from animal control, and his soft toe-beans, glossy coat, and well-fed body made us wonder if he once had a loving home of his own.

After just a week in his foster home, Onyx found the courage to walk into the living room where his foster mom was watching TV - and the rest was history! He loves to be around his human, receiving soft pets and sleeping in bed, curled up next to their legs. He has shown little interest in most toys - except one feather toy! All Onyx really wants at the top of his wish list is a soft place to nap, a human to love, and as many snacks as his heart desires.

As Onyx's personality is still evolving (although growing more comfortable each day!), he would do best as an only cat, in an adult-only, mellow, home with a human or two will allow him to adapt on his own terms.

Can you be the one to give Onyx a warm place to call home....forever?

--
Onyx has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He has been neutered and microchipped as part of the adoption fee.

All have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. If you are interested in meeting Onyx, please go to our website and fill out a cat application.

https://www.therescuepack.org/cat-adoption-application

The Rescue Pack's Adoption Policy
If interested in one of our animals, please fill out an application on our website. The application will then be reviewed by our applications team and passed on to the foster of the animal that was applied for. The foster will then review the application and, if deemed a good fit, will initiate a phone call with the applicant. If, after the phone call, both applicant and foster feel it is a good fit, a meeting with the animal will be scheduled. Once the meeting happens, and the approval from both foster and applicant are given to move forward - our adoptions team will send an electronic payment link to the adopter. Once payment has been received, our adoption contract will be sent along with vet records. The foster and the adopter will agree on an official adoption date - and the animal will now live happily ever after! If an applied for animal is no longer available, our team will assist in trying to find another good fit! If an application is not a good fit, the applicant will also be notified.
