Onyx is gaining confidence and has really blossomed into an affectionate boy!<br/><br/>Onyx’s deep, soulful eyes give you an insight into this sweet boys heart. Onyx is still reprogramming his default setting and learning not to hide away from people. He may do best being adopted with a friend or having a cat of similar age and personality in the home<br/><br/>The quickest way to Onyx’s heart is food, his favorite is lickable treats. Once you have successfully gotten him to socialize with you, Onyx will contentedly purr and head butt requesting more pets, belly rubs and playtime. <br/><br/>This super sweet boy needs a special person who will offer him reassurance and safety while he builds his trust and comfort of a new home.<br/><br/>Onyx is 6 months old and tested negative for FIV & FeLV and is micro-chipped.<br/><br/>Our adoption fee ($75 for cats 1 year and over or $100 for kittens) includes a free vet visit with one of our participating vets.<br/><br/>All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated for rabies and distemper and have been treated, if necessary, for fleas and parasites.<br/><br/>We do adoptions by appointment only. We recommend filling out an adoption application first; then you can be pre-approved before your visit. This way if you find a cat/kitten that you connect with, you can take them home the same day.<br/>Applications can be found here: http://schuylerhumane.org/cat-adoption/<br/><br/>We have Open Hours on Mondays and Fridays from 10am – 1pm, Saturdays from 10am - 4pm or Sundays from 2 to 5 pm. People can stop by without an appointment.
