Imagine being loved and cherished... spoiled and treasured. Sounds nice, right? Then imagine being put outside. The door closed behind you. You claw at the door, you cry to come inside. The very people that once spoiled you with love are inside, ignoring you. Pretty soon, nature takes over. You have tom cats after you every night. You get pregnant. You still try to get the attention of your humans... but they ignore you. Sometimes they put leftovers out. Sometimes they dont. <br/>Now the people are walking in and out a lot. They finally let you inside... but where is all the furniture? And wait... where are the people? They are gone. They did not even say goodbye... and they did not leave any left overs. That is too bad because you are EXTRA HUNGRY. Your belly is getting heavy and the kittens will soon arrive. You dont know what else to do... so you climb under the stairs to what used to be your home. You have four little babies. They all look like you. Every one of them are black. One baby... he is a manx JUST LIKE YOU! He is the apple of your eye. But things are hard. Predators are always sniffing around... looking for something (someone) to eat. It is a hard life. You decide to try trusting another human. After all... the first human were so sweet in the beginning. Maybe the next one will at least help your babies! <br/>You try to be friends with many humans. They shoo you away... they may even yell at you. Some ignore you, like the family that left you behind did. <br/>Finally... FINALLY you find a good human. She pets you and tells you how pretty you are. Is she the one to trust? Should you share your babies with her? Not yet. But you visit her each day... and she sets food out for you. CAT FOOD! And on the fourth day... that is the day you decide she can be trusted. You share your babies with her. And what does she do? She picks up the babies and brings them into her home. You wait at the threshold... unsure of where you stand. Afraid to be captured by a stranger. She talks to you in a soothing voice and tells you its ok... that you and your babies will be safe. That sounds so nice. It really does. You ponder it for another moment or two ... cant decide too quickly. Cats always take their time in deciding things.<br/>Finally you go for it. You run inside and find your babies... safely nestled in a sturdy box with warm blankets. You curl up with your children. Finally at peace... you sleep.<br/><br/>*this is the rescue story of Sapphire and her babies. We are blessed to have been a part of rescuing them and we know the right homes will step up to adopt.
