Ombré FeLV+'s Story

***Sharonville Location *** Like many FeLV positive cats, Ombré ended up at the shelter when he tested positive. The original finder had wanted to keep him, after feeding him as a community cat and realizing how sweet he was, but once he tested positive, he could not stay in her home due to the risk of spreading the virus to her other cats. Ombré doesn’t realize anything is different with him. He rolls around on the floor seeking belly rubs. He is quiet and peaceful and got along immediately with his new FeLV roommates. He is the gentle giant in the room. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard him meow. He’s very quiet and doesn’t complain. He loves his canned food though and happily waits by the door when it’s feeding time. This boy craves affection and will be very loyal. Ideally he should be an only cat or live in a home with another FeLV cat. He is negative for FIV. Please consider making an appointment to see if Ombré would be the right fit for your home. *Must be 21 or older to adopt **Our shelter has a policy to only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter.

HEARTT Animal Refuge's Adoption Policy

All adoptions are by appointment only. We have two locations, Sharonville and Bridgetown, so please clarify who you would like to meet so we can set up the appointment at the correct location. Our adoption fee for both dogs and cats is $100 per animal. We have a policy to only adopt to individuals age 21 or older. Additionally, we only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter. All animals are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption. We also give flea and dewormer treatments. Dogs are tested for Heartworm and cats are quarantined for 8 weeks prior to FIV/FeLV testing. Consider a "Senior" pet.....they really need love and a home to call their own in their senior years. We have a few beautiful kittens and many adult cats that are looking for you.
