Olive's Story

This gorgeous house panther is Olive. She is a really petite, affectionate, and loving kitty who is ready to find her forever home.

Olive originally came to us from a home with a large number of unfixed cats. She was heavily pregnant and gave birth shortly after her arrival. Olive was a wonderful mother to the 5 kittens in our Greek Foods litter, and now it's her turn to find a family.

Olive is a really sweet and affectionate girl who really loves attention from her people. She will be happy to sit on your lap and snuggle all day if you let her. She purrs, does adorable little squeaks, and pushes her head into your hand. Olive loves attention so much that she'll do really well in a home where someone is around for much of the day to spend time with her. Perhaps someone who works from home or is retired. Fortunately, Olive isn't high-energy so she's not looking for someone to entertain her all of the time. She just needs someone to be near her.

This sweet girl will thrive in a home with another cat that compliments her personality. She is currently in a foster home with 2 other cats. One of them is very shy and leery of anything scary and Olive respects her space. The other cat is high energy and playful. Olive enjoys playing with him but if he steps out of line she's not afraid to put him in his place. She will do really well with a male cat that wants to hang out but who isn't obsessive or high-energy. She would also do well with an older cat that doesn't really want to play since Olive is more interested in cuddling than playing.

Olive came from a home where there was a dog, so she might do Ok being introduced to another dog if it's quiet and respects her space. She is looking for an adult-only home; not one with children.

If you'd like to learn more about this gorgeous girl, please visit https://victoriapets.ca/adoption-process/ for information about our adoption process and for a copy of our online adoption application.

Victoria Pet Adoption Society's Adoption Policy
Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment and a big responsibility. Dogs can live 15 years or more, and cats can live 20+ years. Like people, each individual pet comes with its own set of baggage, needs, and personality traits. Because your new pet will depend on you to provide its basic needs, we need to be sure that you are educated and up to the challenge. Our adoption process allows us to ask you some questions about your home environment, your lifestyle, and your needs, expectations, and limitations. We want to be sure that your new pet is going to be just as happy in its new home as you are to have it there. A Successful Adoption Process Includes the Following Steps: To start the adoption process, please complete the online adoption application found at https://victoriapets.ca/adoption-process/. If our adoption team feels as though your home will be a great fit for one of our pets they will contact you to set up a visit supervised by the foster parent who can answer some of the questions you may have about the animal of interest. You will not be able to take the pet home the day of the visit. One of our volunteers will contact you after the visit and will open a dialogue with you based on the information provided in your application. We will talk about your home and family, as well as your experience with pets. We will ask you to tell us about the kind of life and care you can offer to the adopted pet, and we will inform you about any health or behavioural issues that you should be aware of. (For dogs only) Once an adoption is pending, we will come visit your home to ensure that the environment is suitable for the pet in question, based on its needs. We can advise you of modifications that could make the adoption more successful, such as fencing and other things you may not have thought about. The adoption process generally takes several days, and this time line is intentional. It allows you time to think about your decision so that you can be sure that you are comfortable with the decision that you’ve made. Adoptions are never approved within 48 hours of the application being submitted. Once we have successfully journeyed through the steps above, you can pick up your new friend to begin a wonderful life together! Signing an adoption contract is a requirement for every pet that is adopted. Adoption Fees are as Follows: Kittens (up to 12 months of age) $400 Adult Cats (1 yr - 8yrs) $300 Senior Cats (9 yrs and older) $250 Special Needs Cats (other than kittens) $250 Puppies (up to 12 months of age) $600 Adult Dogs (1 yr - 8yrs) $400 Senior Dogs (9 yrs and older) $300 Special Needs dogs (other than puppies) $300 Rabbits $50 Guinea Pigs $30 Rats/hamsters $20 Mice $10 Adoption fees for other species may vary
