OJ's Story

Little OJ was found on our property this winter and has always been one of our sweetest ferals. We named her OJ as she had an encounter with another animal, and lived to see another day, but part of her tail had been de-gloved... Get it? ;) OJ

Anyway, with so many fixed pharaohs on property it's not always easy to find when there has been a new one that has been dumped, especially if they look like some of the others. Sure enough we found that OJ was a new one and had not been fixed as all of a sudden, Momma settled down and had two little kittens. She is being housed with her babies, but is much too domesticated and too sweet to release her back out into our feral population. We hope to find her a home where she can cuddle and get all the pets because this little lady almost acts like a dog and would love to be pet as often as you were willing to dish them out.

Hard Licker Ranch's Adoption Policy
We go through a thorough adoption process that ensures that the best matches are made. We review and call referrals, as well as the current vet, along with an interview with the potential adopter. We then have a conversation about what the dogs behavior is, any red flags for either party and discuss those. After that, and if it looks like a good match, we require a meet and greet with all parties that will be living in the house, human and animal. If there are any red flags, or the meet and greet does not go well, we do not go through with the adoption. We extend resources of the trainer that we use at the Ranch as well as going through the phases of dog decompression.
