Oatmeal and Coco's Story

Meet Oatmeal Raisin and Coco Crispy, two adorable 10-month-old bonded kittens who were rescued just before Christmas and named after cookies. Oatmeal is a handsome orange tabby boy, and Coco is a stunning medium-haired tortoiseshell girl.

These sweet kittens were part of a litter of eight, born to a young stray mom in Harlem during one of this year's brutally cold winters. Thankfully, we were able to rescue the entire family before the freezing temperatures claimed any of their lives. Since then, all of their siblings have found loving forever homes. Now, only Oatmeal and Coco are still waiting for someone to choose them.

According to their foster family, both kittens are affectionate, playful, and full of personality. Oatmeal is the more outgoing of the two. He loves being the center of attention and insists on being part of everything you're doing. Coco is a little more reserved at first, but once she feels safe, she'll reward your patience with unwavering love.

Together, they make the perfect pair. They happily follow their foster around the apartment, chase toys with endless enthusiasm, wrestle and play together, and at the end of the day, curl up for snuggles on the couch or in bed. They thrive on companionship and truly want nothing more than to be part of a family.

Because they share such a special bond, Oatmeal Raisin and Coco Crispy will be adopted together. Both are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, have received their rabies vaccinations, have tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and have been treated for fleas and dewormed.

After surviving such a difficult start in life, these two deserve the happy ending they've been waiting for. If you're looking for a pair of loving companions who will fill your home with laughter, comfort, and endless purrs, Oatmeal Raisin and Coco Crispy are ready to steal your heart.

Give these sweet siblings the forever home they've been waiting for—you'll be saving two lives, and they'll spend every day showing you just how grateful they are. The Cat Collective Rescue NY's Adoption Policy
All adopters complete an application, a short interview, a home check (virtual or in-person), and references so we can ensure the best possible match for both the cat and the family. We carefully consider household dynamics — including other pets, children, lifestyle, and experience — to help make placements that are safe, successful, and lasting. Adoption is a lifelong commitment (often 15–20 years), and if a match doesn’t work out, the cat must be returned to our rescue — never rehomed independently or surrendered elsewhere. Declawing is not permitted. The adoption fee helps cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, testing, microchipping, and medical care; it is a contribution toward the cat’s care, not a purchase. We believe normal cat behaviors like scratching, climbing, and adjustment periods are part of the journey, and we’re here to support you — including check-ins after adoption to help ensure a smooth transition.
