Oatmeal's Story

Hi, I'm Oatmeal. I came to the shelter with my brother Eggy on 4/8/26 when our owner could no longer care for us. We weren’t in the greatest condition and were covered head to toe in fleas. I was nervous when I first came as I didn’t really understand what was happening. I quickly learned that not every human is scary and I actually love attention. I do great with other cats but haven’t lived with any dogs. It would be ideal if my brother and I could go to a home together, but we will be okay without each other if need be

All I’m missing now is a cozy home and someone to love me forever. Maybe that someone is you? I am about 5 years old. Would you like to stop by and visit with me? Please call 518-842-8050 to make an appointment. Thank you and I hope to see you soon!

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
