OAKLEY's Story
OAKLEY has had a loving home for nine years, with his person, along with other cats and dogs, including his best friend, MEEKO who was also surrendered. But things have changed as his owner has had reoccurring health issues and more frequent hospital stays. Sadly, this had greatly reduced the guardian's ability to care for OAKLEY and the painful decision was made to bring him to the shelter.

This handsome guy is very affectionate, loves to cuddle. He gets along with other cats and dogs, who are non-aggressive. He is a bit overwhelmed with the multiple roommates at the shelter though. He may be fine with Children over 12, who understand soft touch/pets, no tight hugs, and that OAKLEY may not be interested in playing much. It is also important that Everyone remembers that to avoid possible scratches and bites, let the cat go when he wants to be let down. Given OAKLEY's age and the fact that he was living with an older guardian, he may be best in an older home.

OAKLEY seems adaptable but he is a confused by the sudden change in his life. He is still mourning the absence of his person and is uneasy at the shelter. He should, eventually adjust to the new experiences of shelter living. But both we at the shelter and OAKLEY's former guardian, hope someone will soon fall in love with OAKLEY and give him a new home.

We know OAKLEY has known loving hands, seeks attention, and is used to being with someone who also likes cuddles. He misses that! If you are looking for someone to be your snuggle buddy, Meeko would love to join you. Wouldn't kitty snuggles and companionship would be a lovely way to spend the quiet times. And if it is possible, it would it be even better if big brother MEEKO could join in the snuggles!

DOB-04/2017 Entered Shelter-04/2026

If you would like to adopt OAKLEY, please visit the shelter during Adoption Hours, Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00-7:00pm, Saturdays, 10:00am to 1:00pm, or call 231-773-3030 for an appointment.
