Nutmeg's Story

Nutmeg is ready to find his forever home!

Nutmeg | M | 2½ years | DSH | Cats ? | Dogs ? | Kids ? | Fully vetted

Nutmeg was returned to the rescue after his family developed allergies. He was born in the kitten room to mama Sage.

He’s had some time to settle into his foster home, and they’ve gotten to know him a little better.

His foster mom has this to say about him:
“He’s a sweet and curious cat who seeks affection once he’s comfortable—you might even get the occasional lick! He’s very playful and loves interactive toys. He’s neat and tidy but definitely a food thief—beware! He’s not very vocal but has been doing some of those adorable chirps.”

We think young children may be a bit too much for him. His foster family has been taking things slow with reintroducing him to his kitty sisters, and he’s been doing really well so far. There’s potential for him to live with another cat and/or dog, provided there’s a slow introduction. He could also thrive as a solo cat with enough attention.

We believe he’d do best in a quieter home with plenty of comfy spots to sprawl out and get cozy. Nutmeg was understandably scared with the move and still has a few grumbles and hisses here and there, but he continues to make lots of progress. He can be a little sassy when asked to move from one of his lounge spots, but he’s really coming around!

We’d love to find this chonky boy a home with patient, understanding humans where he can settle in and truly thrive. Zoe and Sawyer continue to work their magic to help him feel more comfortable in the mean time.

If you’re interested in giving Nutmeg the best forever home, please apply on our website:
