Nova's Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step.
Meet Nova,

Nova is a sweet, male cat that is on the very shy side. He was found living in a culvert under a good Samaritan's driveway for over a year. The family is pretty sure he was dumped there or the prior homeowners left him behind. The family fed the cat for months before finally trapping him and taking him in when the weather started getting cold. No one stepped up to claim him . He is the sweetest boy but is very shy. He will need a quiet home where he can decompress and learn that living inside with humans is a good thing. He does not have any aggression and will allow petting but is nervous while he is receiving pets and love. We believe he lived in a home once but has been outside for at least a year, and now indoor living is still a little scary.

At this time, he has shown a lot of interest in cats! He appears calmer and more confident when friendly cats are around. He currently has a cat-friendly Labrador Retriever in his foster home and has no reaction to her. We feel a quieter home with a friendly feline friend(s) and no kids would help with his transition. Although we feel he could coexist with a calm, cat-friendly dog that doesn't bark. Does your home seem like the perfect home that Nova so desperately deserves? Apply for Nova today to get him his perfect, forever home!

All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.
The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.

7/4/26 5:13 PM
