Nod's Story

Nod is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH)-mix, female, DOB: 5/2/22

Looking for approval from a gentle touch and soft-spoken words, Nod revels in being close to people, she enjoys being held and snuggling in peoples’ arms, and she will choose loving attention and interaction with her people over just about any other activity. That’s not to say she doesn’t enjoy plenty of playtime and adventurous exploration on her own and with other kittens, too – she certainly does, and adventuring to find new favorite places to watch the goings on is a must on her daily agenda.

Cheerful and upbeat, undemanding and easy-to-please, extremely affectionate and pretty happy-go-lucky, mischievous, lively, adventurous, curious, and simply adoring and adorable – Nod, above all else, is a people cat-kitten looking to light up the lives of her new family members when they welcome her into her forever home where she will live the rest of her days as a very much-loved and pampered pet and companion.

Nod, along with littermates, Wynken and Blynken: came to Monroe SPCA as orphans needing critical care - all 3 kittens, not able to eat on their own, found outdoors. The three kitten siblings spent their first months with Monroe SPCA in medical foster being treated for URIs, Giardia, Coccidia, and Roundworm.

Now a happy, healthy feline, Nod is looking for her forever home with a family who can give her the time and attention a young cat needs. Although Nod can be adopted individually, we recommend a pairing with several of our other young cats having compatible personalities and temperament.

Nod is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). She's comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Nod currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.

For more information message us on Facebook or email info@monroespca.org.
