Meet our fluffy, stunning Tortie lady Nina! We do not know what life was like for her in her younger years but we know that life has not been kind to her lately. Pippi's Place pulled Nina from a rural animal control facility. The staff reported that she had been surrendered by an elderly citizen who could not care for her. We could not turn our back to Nina after seeing her heartbreaking picture when a request for rescue support was posted. Nina's beautiful long fur was so severely matted all over her body that a brush or comb could not move through it. She welcomed pets under her chin and just behind her ears where it was not painful to the touch. Nina was clearly hungry in need of a safe place to receive care. Nina has blossomed in her foster home. She was taken to a professional groomer to be sedated and shaved down. Her "lion cut" was adorable and her hair is growing back in just beautifully. Nina is a calm, quiet older lady who is content to lay on her warm bed in a sunny spot looking out upon the world around her. She welcomes pets but is not needy. She is a constant companion with a sense of independence. Nina is very healthy and has a hearty appetite. She gets along with the other kitties in her foster home.
