Nene's Story

Nene is the kind of cat who makes you feel chosen. She was living outside as part of a colony, but when it came time to bring her to safety, we didn’t even need a trap. She simply hopped right into the car like she knew her indoor life was waiting. Since then, she’s made it very clear she’s meant to be someone’s house cat.

Nene is incredibly sweet, social, and affectionate. She loves people and isn’t shy about asking for attention. She’ll softly pat your hand or arm when she wants pets, which is about the cutest thing ever. She truly just seems happy to be inside and close to her humans.

Nene has met a few other cats and can be a little unsure at first. After being picked on before, she’s understandably cautious. She hasn’t started any trouble, just a little hiss here and there when she feels nervous. With slow, patient introductions she may do fine, but she’d absolutely thrive as your one and only.

Nene would fit beautifully into almost any home, whether that’s a family with kids or a single person who wants a constant companion. She has the funniest grumpy resting face you’ve ever seen. Don’t let it fool you. Behind that serious expression is the softest, sweetest girl.

Come meet Nene at our adoption events (info below) and see for yourself. She might look grumpy, but she’s pure love.

If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.clawsadopt.org), as it will be processed quicker than emailing us just through Petfinder.

Adoption events are held at Donna’s Pet Depot in Northvale, NJ every Saturday from 11-3. You can check our Facebook and Instagram pages for updated info on the cats/kittens that will be there each weekend. Not all cats/kittens listed on Petfinder attend.
