NEMO's Story

Meet Nemo — the tiny orange philosopher who truly lives by the motto: “Just keep meowing, just keep purring.” From the moment he learned his name, he fully embraced his destiny as the official narrator of the household. Nemo is one of the chattiest little kittens you’ll ever meet, and somehow he has even convinced his brothers to join in. For a house full of boys, they are an impressively vocal crew.

Nemo seems to believe everyone deserves a full play-by-play of his daily activities, and honestly, it’s impossible not to laugh at his commentary. He gives one perfectly timed meow before hopping into the litterbox, then another once he’s finished his business. He announces the start of mealtime with a meow, and then politely informs you when he’s done eating too. Just one meow each time — short, purposeful, and incredibly funny, like a tiny reporter keeping everyone updated on important kitten events.

When he was younger, Nemo was a little more cautious than his adventurous brothers, especially when it came to heights. He loved climbing the cat tower with the others, but while his siblings fearlessly launched themselves off the top, Nemo would carefully search for a less dramatic route down. You could practically see him calculating the safest exit strategy. Thankfully, he has since conquered his fear of heights and has fully embraced his inner daredevil. Once he adopted his “just keep meowing” philosophy, he never looked back and has been making up for lost time ever since.

Now Nemo is one of the friendliest, most social, and affectionate little boys around. While he still gets bursts of playful kitten energy, his favorite thing in the world is simply being near his people. Whether he’s curled up in your lap, climbing onto your back for a shoulder ride, or following you around the house chatting away, Nemo is happiest when he’s involved in whatever you’re doing. He occasionally attempts a little mischief, but his adorable attempts at bravery usually just make everyone fall in love with him even more.

Nemo is the kind of kitten who is incredibly easy to adore and equally easy to please. Give him food, affection, and someone to listen to his important daily announcements, and he is perfectly content. Sweet, goofy, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining, Nemo is guaranteed to fill his future home with laughter, love, and a whole lot of adorable commentary.

Rhode Island Feline Rescue's Adoption Policy
We have a very detailed Adoption Application as well as an adoption coordinator system. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed by the adoption coordinator, vet records confirmed, residence status, renting/landlord information, pet permission, and employment verified then the coordinator conducts an interview with the potential adopter. If deemed a good match, the adoption coordinator forwards the information about the potential adopter to the foster. If the foster also agrees then they will have a meet and greet. At the completion of the meeting, if both parties agree the cat/kittens is a good fit an adoption contract is signed, and the adoption fee paid. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. All the cats and kittens in our care receive the following: checkup, spay/neuter, rabies & distemper vaccines, de-worming medicine, flea preventative, microchip, and Felv/FIV test.
