Nature's Story

Nature
Female DSH brown tabby
Estimated age: 2 years old

About: Nature was a stray in a SW Grand Rapids neighborhood. A kind person took her in and she had kittens. This person contacted us when Nature's FIRST litter was older and she couldn't find homes for them. We took them in, got them vet care and spay/neutered and adopted into homes. While at the home getting the first litter of kittens, we discovered Nature was nursing two week old kittens. When these kittens got old enough, the person again contacted us and asked us to take the remaining kittens and mom, Nature.

Nature is very sweet, she gets along with other cats and seems ok with dogs. She'd be best with older kids or kids that can read kitty body language as Nature will be sure to let you know if she doesn't like what you are doing to her.

Location: If you'd like to meet her, she's currently in residence at the Happy Cat Cafe. Visit www.happycatgr.com for more information.

Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption.

If you are interested in adopting, fill out an application online at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt

Fig and Friends Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy
~We do not adopt to homes with animals who are not spayed or neutered unless there is a valid reason such as vet recommendation. ~We do check references including landlord if you rent and your vet both past and present. ~We do not adopt to homes that plan on declawing the cat we have adopted out to you or that plan on letting a cat outside (unless on a leash and harness under owner's continued observation). ~If we see something on your application that we are concerned about, we will always try and have a conversation with you to find out the why. We understand you might have declawed a cat in the past or had to rehome an animal. It can happen to anyone. We like to dig deeper and won't deny someone just based on surface information.
