NAPOLEON's Story
Napoleon – Layered, Lovely, and Surprisingly Sweet

Intake: 2/24/25
Estimated Birthdate: March 2020

Contrary to what one might assume, this beguiling brown tabby wasn’t named after the pint-sized French general—but rather after the delicate dessert made of layer upon layer of flaky pastry. From the moment I met him, I knew Napoleon was a multi-faceted fellow who, given time, would reveal just how sweet he truly is.
Napoleon is FIV-positive and was initially quite a handful. With a little help from behavioral medications and plenty of patience, he has made tremendous progress. He no longer yowls when other cats get too close, and he’s learning how to calm himself when he does get a bit worked up. The transformation has been wonderful to watch.

These days, Napoleon loved playing with the three ABC kittens, running and chasing them with enthusiasm. They have since been adopted so he is looking for another playmate to keep up with his energy level. He would be happiest in a spacious home with one or two companions, ideally a younger, spunky cat who can help keep him active, entertained, and engaged.

Honestly, it’s hard to understand why Napoleon is still with us. He’s such a great cat. With his laid-back personality, he isn’t one to demand attention or steal the spotlight. When he first arrived, he wasn’t thrilled about sharing space with other residents but seeing him accept and enjoy their company now shows he simply needed time to adjust. Turns out, he was just trying to be a big fish in a small pond.

Napoleon plays well with others, enjoys birdwatching, and is perfectly content hanging out with a few trusted pals. He’s a quiet treat—subtle, sweet, and layered in all the best ways—just waiting for the right home to appreciate him.
