Meet Myles<br/>Myles has Wobblers Syndrome (Sort of like Cerebral Palsy in a Human) PLEASE BARE WITH ME ON MY NOTES...All my fosters are incredibly special to me...but Myles being special needs is that much hard to let go. I KNOW you are most likely very experienced with Wobblers BUT I feel I need to speak for Myles.<br/>Myles Loves all kibble and soft food. He would have access all day to kibble and water, and be served a small portion of soft food morning and night.<br/>Myles doesn't let anything slow him down. He moves side to side (sometimes standing) to get where he needs to go. He is rather fast at times. It is encouraged to be careful of his nose and head from hitting sharp corners or the floor. So maybe a space where it has soft support like mats or quilts on floor. He can function on hard flooring but does better with friction support. Myles is known for face planted a lot.<br/>Myles LOVES to snuggle. So if up on a chair or sofa be sure he doesn't wiggle and all off...and never leave him unattended on a high surface no matter how comfy he looks.<br/>NO STAIRS. He has no motor skills for stairs. This would be extremely life threatening for him.<br/>NO OUTSIDE TIME (unless directly with you) he cannot move away or defend himself from predators.<br/>Be careful that other animals in the home don't overtake his food and water. He eats but it takes him some time.<br/>Myles doesn't use a litter box. We had slanted low entry non covered boxes, even a cookie sheet...wee wee mats etc...but Myles went wherever. I am not sure if he can sense in time the urge to go. So blankets would need to be washed often with perhaps a spare to interchange. He did however have a special flat mat he would use most often and I would just keep that washed up and use a poop bag to pick up his poop. SO a corner of your home where he can be a part of your family but not make messes throughout might be best. Although I would still over an accommodating litter box...he might try it as he grows and gets older. MIGHT.<br/>Sometimes Myles rolls in his messes, and requires a quick wipe up or a full on bum bath. For a quick wipe I use sensitive baby wipes and a lice or flea comb ($ store or Pet Value for comb) For a bum bath we do it in a bathroom sink (Support him well so he doesn't go under) soak him in warm soapy water (I use a probiotic shampoo/conditioner from Pet Value BUT any natural or pet friendly shampoo would be fine.) wipe with soapy face cloth and dry him well with a towel. Have patience...it isn't his fault.<br/>Myles would be a candidate for kitten / cat diapers. You can get cloth one or disposable on Amazon. HOWEVER someone would need to either work from home (and have someone come in if you were away) as Myles would need changes frequently to prevent feces and urine scalding, and infections. Maybe something to use only when he is having full house free time.<br/>Myles has a special slanted bowl for his soft food and kibble. I will send one of the bowls with him but you will probably need a 2nd for his kibble (Pet Value) I always placed Myles close to dish on his side...he lets you know which side he likes that day. If you don't do this he will flounder and roll and moves himself a distance back and forth struggling to keep in front of dish. Sometimes he will get his footing and want to sit up...but let him do so on his own. His water dish is a wide shallow dish (I will send with him) He doesn't need that slanted right now it seems and does good dipping nose in to determine depth and drinks. Most cats prefer water away from their food BUT for Myles it is better to keep them close together with easy access all day. Same for his litter (or in Myles case his mat)...in a spot that has all his stuff (but far enough away from his food and water.<br/>Always place him on his side when putting him down.<br/>Myles LOVES to play with all toys. Rolling and chasing after them. Remember he doesn't realize he is different.<br/>Myles likes round soft beds with sides that he can prop himself up in. He sleeps a lot (more often for a kitten because he burns so much energy)<br/>IF for whatever reason things are too much, and it isn't working out. Please don't rehome him. Contact the shelter who will then contact myself and he will come back into my care.<br/>I know this was a novel. I appreciate you taking the time.
