Murray and Riley (bonded)'s Story

Meet Murray, an adorable white and black kitty with the cutest large polka dots. He was trapped in a feral colony north of Grand Rapids. This colony is known for its fluffy beautiful cats. Murray is medium length with the softest fur. He was trapped, socialized and is now in foster care waiting to be adopted.

Murray presents as a little shy. Fast movements can send him scurrying. However, he is learning to relax more and more every day. He enjoys pets and will purr and purr. He has quite a motor! He leans into pets and rolls over for belly rubs. He will lay against his foster Mom's leg while she rubs him and if she stops petting him, returns for more. He likes to bat around cloth mice, chase balls, and run-through his tunnel. As chill and sweet as he is, he is very confident with a wand toy. He LOVES to chase and jump and if he catches the feather will give a little growl to announce his capture of the feather. It's adorable!

Murray will take a little patience but thankfully, because of his young age he has so much potential. He doesn't hide from his Foster Mom and is beginning to approach her on his own for pets. He enjoys snuggling in her arms and laying beside her. Murray is very food motivated so that also is a great way to earn his trust as well as play.

We believe that kittens are happiest when they have another kitty to play with so Murray will need to be adopted with his foster mate Riley. Murray and Riley love playing together; chasing each other down the hall and tussling. They also have moments of snuggle time. Riley brings out confidence in Murray and Riley gets play time with her "big brother".

For the safety of our kittens and for children, we do not adopt kittens under six months old to a home with children under the age of 6.

With an approved application, a meet and greet can be set up at the foster home.

Murray has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Murray's approximate birthdate is 04/01/2026. His adoption fee is $120.

If you are interested in meeting Murray or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, please go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
