Munch (and Tutu)'s Story

Munch is the kind of cat who likes to know where her people are at all times—and preferably be right there with you. She’s playful, affectionate, and just a little bit chatty (think polite chirps, not full-on monologues). If she’s looking for you, you’ll hear about it. Oh, and sometimes Munch’s tongue sticks out for no reason at all. We don’t ask questions. We just appreciate it.<br/><br/>She’s got great “work from home” energy—happy to hang nearby, occasionally popping into your lap when the mood strikes, and always ready to supervise from a nearby surface (bonus points if it’s the entryway table when you walk in the door… she will be there to greet you).<br/><br/>When it’s playtime, Munch is all in. Wand toys? Yes. A pickle on a string? Even better. She’ll jump, chase, and entertain you for as long as you’re willing to participate. And when she’s done? She’ll reward you by curling up between your legs like it’s her assigned seat.<br/><br/>Munch is part of a bonded pair with Tutu. They balance each other perfectly—bringing playful energy, sweet companionship, and just the right amount of “we’ll supervise whatever you’re doing.” They love to wrestle, chase, and entertain each other. Together, they’re the kind of duo that makes a house feel full in the best way. <br/><br/>If you would like to discuss meeting and possibly adopting Munch and Tutu, email: info@chicagocatrescue.org. No texts please.<br/><br/>CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our respective Chicago foster families. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.<br/><br/>At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care.<br/><br/>Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. Chicago Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Chicago Cat Rescue is a foster based organization, which means that all our cats and kittens are housed in private foster homes until we find them permanent homes. We generally begin by having a phone conversation with prospective adopters in order to find out what you're looking for and to learn something about you and your home situation. CCR adopts to homes in Chicago and the very near suburbs, which are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. Our minimum adoption age is 25. We then put you in touch with our foster parents, so you can contact them directly to schedule meet ‘n greets with our cats in their foster homes. Meeting our cats in their foster homes and having in-depth conversations with our foster parents is a great way to learn about your prospective cats' personalities and temperaments. We sometimes begin with a virtual visit between adopters and foster parents, and our cats are able to participate too! Then, if all parties are comfortable, an in-home visit is scheduled. All family members are expected to participate in these virtual and in-home visits. During the challenging past three years, we’ve tried our best to continue to give our cats the opportunity to find their forever homes. At the same time, we have strived to maintain the integrity of our adoption process. Once you’ve met the cat(s) you’d like to adopt, we will send you our adoption application and contract. We ask for a couple of business days to process applications, which gives you time to prepare for your new furry family member's arrival. Application processing includes contacting personal, vet and landlord references (as applicable). After your application is approved, we deliver our cats to their new homes. Our adoption fee is $175 per cat or kitten, to help defray our costs. All our cats are spayed/neutered, blood tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, dewormed, FVRCP vaccinated and micro chipped, in addition to receiving any other necessary medical care. We maintain follow up contact with our adopters by phone and email to help ensure a smooth transition, and to address any questions and concerns that may arise. We hope our adopters will use us as a resource both at the time of adoption and on into the future, as needed.
