Mork's Story
Mork is a 2-year-old male who came to us as a stray.

Mork is a two-year-old tuxedo (black and white) male. He arrived at the shelter in March, and after living outside and being on his own, he was extremely reactive and shut down for a few months, not moving from the highest shelf in the room unless there were no people around. It has been a slow process, but we've been working with him to build his confidence and show him that people aren't so bad.
This handsome tuxedo can still get pretty scared when directly approached, but he is getting less urgent about his need to flee and allows humans to get closer before deciding he needs to retreat to his highest shelf. He now allows himself to get comfortable around the room, even remaining out in the open and birdwatching while people are in the room! While humans still need to be patient in earning his trust, he is more sociable with other cats. He usually has a buddy hanging out on his shelf, and recently we've seen him on the floor with the other cats. He has not shown a preference for male or female cats, and he seems to accept all cats. Having a more confident, outgoing cat in the home is strongly recommended, as this will help model behavior for him and build his confidence.

We believe that underneath his fear and uncertainty, there is a very sweet boy, waiting until he feels safe to let his walls down. Even when he first arrived and was reactive, the observed behaviors were fleeing and hissing/growling, with no trying to swat or bite, which is a testament to his underlying sweet nature.

Mork is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Adoption Fee: $175

If you have already submitted an application with us within the last year, you do not need to do another one, please email adoptioncounselor@mrfrs.org if you are interested in adopting Mork.
