Morgan Bennett's Story
Morgan Bennett has already survived so much. He arrived at FieldHaven in late April as part of a group of cats displaced when the home they had been living in was torn down. Suddenly homeless and struggling to survive, Morgan came to us in rough shapeŚcovered in fleas, with a wound on his hip, and clearly not feeling well. As our veterinary team worked to uncover what was wrong, blood tests revealed that Morgan's body was destroying important blood cells faster than it could replace them. In simple terms, he didn't have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen through his body, and he didn't have enough platelets to help his blood clot properly. It's a serious condition, but thankfully one that is responding to treatment. And that's where the good news begins. Morgan is improving. His appetite is fantastic. His bloodwork is heading in the right direction. And despite everything he's been through, his love for humans has never wavered. This boy is: - The ultimate lap cat - A professional biscuit maker - A champion head-butter - Friendly with other cats - Polite and easygoing - Constantly rolling over for attention - Powered almost entirely by head scritches and affection Now Morgan needs a medical foster home for approximately 2¢3 months while he continues his recovery. His needs are manageable: - Daily medications (steroids and an antibiotic) - A return trip to FieldHaven every 2¢4 weeks for bloodwork - Lots of love and a comfortable place to rest We'll provide everything you need, show you exactly how to medicate him, and support you every step of the way. Morgan is already accustomed to his medications and is an excellent patient. If you've ever thought about fostering, this sweet boy would love to spend his recovery curled up in your lap instead of a shelter kennel. Can you help Morgan heal? Apply to foster today!click here
