Mopsy's Story

Does your cat want a cat?! Meet Mopsy, the favorite playmate of every resident in his foster home. He has hit his full teenage stride born early May 2025. This golden-eyed, seemingly solid-black kitten, with secret tabby stripes peeking through in the sunlight, has the most adorable and expressive tail with the slightest of crinkles at the tip.

Mopsy aka Mop-a-doodle is a lover of many things, foremost being other cats! Whether he is flirting with the shy new arrival still stuck in their shell or any of the 4 resident adult cats in his foster home, you're sure to find him palling around with a feline friend or two. He even enjoys the resident dogs weaving his way between their legs and head butting their chests. When he's lucky, one doggo even shares a few licks of her raw egg a top her kibble. Mopsy most enjoys spending his days basking in the sunlight of the catio, playing chase games with his feline friends and lounging on the indoor grass pad. This guy loves to soak up safe bits of nature while also being respectful of houseplants, what a bonus!!

Do you have a cat who would love a rambunctious playmate to show the ropes of life to? Maybe your snuggly, respectful dog wants a kitty to adore? Mopsy would thrive in a home with other friendly animals, especially cats and calm dogs. Mopsy is ready to make friends with any animal he has met, bringing out the youthful games of tag, hide and seek, and more to liven up even the most shy of middle age kitties. When it comes to humans, he is a bit more cautious. Once he asks for touch, he will melt into the crook of an arm and the purr motor won't stop if he gets his head held in your hand, chin scratched, and face lightly smushed with kisses and love...then boing!!! He will spring out of your arms battery full and ready for more playtime. This little guy is everyone's shadow, constantly following the most active house member around to see what cool things they may be up to.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with their initial age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.
