Monroe's Story

Hi, I'm Monroe!
I got my name from the beauty mark on my lip but I also go by Gollum partly because of the ring on my tail ("one ring to rule them all!"), and because I am very "precious" about food.
While I like quiet time, I also have a playful and adventurous side. I am not shy in meowing when I want food, attention or both. I love being brushed and will happily soak up the attention.
Wand toys are my favourite when I'm not busy finding the highest spot to climb to in the room. I make my foster parents laugh with the places I find myself in - I am proud to be the first cat to ever get up there!
I'm opening up and getting braver every day and have just started asking for belly rubs. Even when I'm not totally comfortable, I like a good ear scratch and head pat. I also like to let my foster parents know when there are friends over by meowing loudly until I get a good sniff and scratch. Then I am happy to relax in the background again.
I used to live with many other cats and I am sometimes worried there's not enough food to go around. With patience, reassurance, and a consistent feeding schedule, I'm learning that food is coming and I can relax.

I have lived comfortably with other cats before but I don't seem to particularly mind if there is or isn't another cat. I could be equally happy as the only cat in the home or sharing my space with a feline friend.

DOB: Jan 01, 2025

Hi, I'm Monroe!
I got my name from the beauty mark on my lip but I also go by Gollum partly because of the ring on my tail ("one ring to rule them all!"), and because I am very "precious" about food.
