Mombo

Meet Mombo.<br/><br/>Mombo is somewhere between 2 and 3 years old, and frankly, she has had a very eventful year.<br/><br/>Mombo was abandoned when her family needed to leave the country. And she wasn’t abandoned alone. She arrived with her three five-day-old kittens and the father of those kittens.<br/><br/>Losing a home is destabilizing enough for any cat. Unfortunately, Mombo also had to be separated from her gentleman friend. With an overwhelmed foster network and Dad not yet neutered, keeping an intact male and female together simply wasn’t something we could safely do.<br/><br/>So Mombo went to foster care, suddenly single, with three newborns to raise.<br/><br/>And she was an incredible mother.<br/><br/>She was attentive, protective, and completely devoted to her babies. She got them through those fragile first weeks and all the way to weaning. Two of her kittens made it to that milestone, and after everything Mombo did for them, her motherhood duties are officially over.<br/><br/>Now she is spayed, FIV/FeLV negative, post-divorce, free from a motherhood she never asked for, and finally ready for somebody to take care of her.<br/><br/>Mombo is a sweet girl who does well with other cats. We think she’d also be fine with a respectful dog with a proper introduction, and with children who understand how to be gentle with cats.<br/><br/>She lost her home, her husband, and spent the next several weeks raising babies.<br/><br/>We would very much like the next chapter of Mombo’s life to involve significantly less responsibility.<br/><br/>She’s done enough. It’s Mombo time.
