Mocha's Story
This adorable little kitten is Mocha and he is looking for a very special forever home. He came to be at the Franklin Township Animal Shelter after his pregnant mom was found as a stray. Mocha was born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), commonly known as wobbly cat syndrome. It is a congenital neurological condition where the cerebellum (the part of the brain controlling balance and coordination) fails to fully develop in the womb.
Key Facts About CH:
Not Contagious or Painful: CH is not an illness and will not cause your cat any pain.
Not Progressive: The condition does not get worse over time.
Normal Lifespan: With proper care, these cats live completely normal, full, and happy lives.
Although Mocha has CH, he has no idea that he is different from other kittens. He is an absolute love bug who meows for attention and loves to be held and cuddled. Once in your arms, his purr machine kicks into high gear! He got along well with his litter mates (who have all been adopted), so he may enjoy the company of another cat. He walks and runs, eats well, and uses the litter box, but he wobbles and does fall down. Mocha would do best in a home with older children who would understand his mobility limitations and unique needs. If you are interested in giving sweet Mocha a forever home, you can meet him T-F 12-3 or Sat 12-6.
