Mittens's Story

Mittens was surrerendered by owner after suffering a severe front leg break - the medical costs were beyond their ability to pay. Due to the type of leg fracture, the vet recommended the easiest and least costly option of amputating the leg. Michele's Rescue knew if the leg was amputated Mittens would be disabled forever! We needed to act quickly while the break was still new. After contacting multiple vets - the soonest we could get her in with a specialist was with our friends at Purdue University Small Animal Hospital. Mittens now has a plate and multiple screws holding her little chicken wing of a leg together as it heals.
Mittens is a lovebug and will look adoringly at you, immediately purring just at the sight of you! She loves being held and sitting in your lap (need a work buddy, this is your girl!!). Mittens is also energetic and very playful.
She will be available towards the end of June after she recovers from her surgery - if you are interested in pre-adopting and live in Michigan, fill out an app today to schedule a meet and greet with this little nugget of pure sunshine!

For more information visit www.michelesrescue.com.
