Misty's Story

Misty is the coolest cat in the club.

Like the jazz standard she’s named for, Misty is enduring and soulful—a classic in her own right. Rescued from a multi-cat environment, she’s learning that life can be more than shadows—it can be swing, warmth, love (and treats!). Misty has that Ella Fitzgerald magic: a quiet presence that grows into a melody of trust once you let her into your heart.

ABOUT MISTY
• At shelter
• Misty is a timid cat who has had minimal experience with humans, but is gradually warming up to the stage crew (volunteers).
• This little diva loves her treehouse and her wand toy!
• She’s gradually becoming more comfortable overall and enjoys playing.
• Misty loves to interact with her feline kennel mates, often greeting them with a head bump, playing, and cuddling with them.
• She has become more vocal and now lets out chirps and twills with her friends.
• She has become a fan of the back-scratcher and is now leaning into it for rubs.
• Misty is not very food motivated, but she does love Churu!
• Misty is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.
• Misty is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

MISTY’S IDEAL HOME
• We are still learning about Misty, but we think she would do great with a patient human who is willing to earn her trust gradually.
• Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Misty settle into her new environment.
• A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
• We are unsure if Misty is good with dogs or other animals.
• Misty is social with other cats and can be adopted with another feline companion, or into a home that already has a resident cat. She’d also do perfectly well as a solo cat.

She may start off shy, but soon you’ll be ‘too misty, and too much in love’. Are you ready to let this cool cat jazz up your life? If so, fill out an adoption application today!

If you have any questions about Misty or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com
