Miss Lady's Story

Miss Lady is a five year old, independent but friendly girl. She gets along with other cats and dogs and is fine around children, as she grew up in a household with a baby, then toddler with no problems, and does well with respectful children. It can take her a minute to get used to other animals, a lot of hissing at first, but after a short adjustment period, she's running around the house playing. Miss Lady could be an olympic jumper, as she can jump to high places that none of her foster's other cats can get to. She doesn't love to be picked up, but it really depends on her mood. While getting comfortable around the other cats and her new surroundings it became clear that treats are the way to her heart. She will do best with a patient owner who lets her warm up in her own time, though it doesn't take long. She has a lot of energy and will chase the other kitties for hours, then sleep for hours. She is not a hider and will greet guests for pets upon arrival. Her favorite sleeping spot is inside a box or the fuzzy blanket next to her foster. She’s a sweet baby.

Currently in foster care in Los Angeles. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.

All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Thank you!
____________________
Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community.
