Mira's Story

Mira came to us after being the victim of declawing, and her pain was overwhelming. She was hurting, scared, and lashing out, not because she was “mean,” but because she had been through so much.

Our amazing team got to work right away to find the best way to help this sweet girl feel her best. A longacting pain medication was identified, and once she started it... wow. The joy on her face, and on our staff's, as she finally began to feel relief was unforgettable. She will need to stay on this pain medication to continue to live with less pain.

This oncegrumpy, hurting girl is now experiencing less pain, showing her true personality, and blossoming into the happy cat she always deserved to be.

Now, with your help, we're on a mission to find Mira the amazing forever home she so deeply deserves. She is not a fan of other cats, but will play with older children who respect her boundaries.

The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.

Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary. We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws.

We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.

Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!

***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.

Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission
