Mingus

Mingus is a 6-year-old handsome hunk looking to be the king of his own castle!<br/><br/>This sweet stripey guy is a mild-mannered gentleman who would never hurt a fly. Though cautious at first, once he is familiar with his surroundings, he loves to hang out in the same room as humans. He also likes playing with wand toys, fetching his favorite items, and relaxing in his cozy igloo bed near the window. <br/><br/>He will join you on the couch, sometimes perched above, or sometimes settling in on your chest. He is a big fan of being petted and gently brushed.<br/><br/>Mingus is a pretty chill guy, relaxing on his cat bed for much of the day...but his energy does pick up in spurts. When he feels the zoomies calling, he will run around the house and seek out his beloved wand toys for some action. <br/><br/>Mingus currently lives with 2 adults in a quiet home with no other animals. He has been around other cats in a different foster home and when going to vet appointments, and is not a fan. We also did a short dog introduction trial with a very calm non-reactive dog, and Mingus was not a fan of dogs either. He hasn't been around any children yet, but I think he would be okay as long as they were gentle and approached him without sudden movements.<br/><br/>Mingus would thrive in a home where he is the only animal. He likes being around humans and settling into his comfy spots. He would be a great companion for someone who works from home or is around a lot, and who is looking for a gentle and friendly presence. <br/><br/>Mingus eats a special hydrolyzed diet to help with inflammation that he has had in his past. His forever people would have to be committed to keeping him on this diet only (with no other food or treats), to help him live his best and healthiest life.<br/><br/>Mingus is a gentle sweetheart that will thrive in a steady, calm environment. If you're looking for a calm best friend to share couch time, pets, and playtime, this feline jazz master is ready to meet you!<br/><br/>There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates.<br/><br/>Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.<br/><br/>All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped.
