Meet Milton! He is a 3-year-old handsome shorthaired black cat who's ready to find a loving home to call his own. He came to us from a local county animal control and has been patiently waiting since June 16th, 2026 for his second chance. Milton is a sweet boy we are still getting to know, but so far he has shown a gentle and calm presence. As he continues to settle in, we look forward to learning more about his personality and what he enjoys most. Milton may benefit from a patient and understanding adopter who can give him the time and space he needs to adjust and feel comfortable in his new home. Milton is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Capital Area Humane Society's Adoption Policy

The purpose of our adoption criteria is to ensure a consistent, fair process and to provide every potential adopter with an equal opportunity to welcome a new pet into their home. All animals are adopted to individuals who agree to follow the guidelines outlined in the adoption contract. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and are required to complete an adoption questionnaire, as well as provide valid identification and proof of current residence. Pets are placed in homes where they will be cared for primarily as indoor companions, and adopters must commit to providing lifelong care, including proper food, water, shelter, and regular exercise. Animals may be adopted as gifts in accordance with our gift adoption policy. Additionally, to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we do not proceed with adoptions to individuals who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
