Millie's Story

Millie and her siblings were born to a wild mother cat and even though the kittens were brought to the city pound at 6 weeks old, they have retained a little of their mother's behavior. Millie has a high "flight" response and will run back to the safety of her cage when startled. Of all the kittens, she is the most uneasy when being touched. She adores her siblings but does not interact much with the other kitties. Millie chooses to ignore the volunteers and when we try to handle her, the first response is to run and hide. If we sit quietly she will approach and let us pet her. Carrying her is a big no-no as she prefers to keep all four feet on the floor. Millie says no-way to sharing her home with a dog and will react aggressively when dogs come into the cat room.

She is searching for a quiet home with a routine and a patient person that will help her overcome her fears. Her new "person" will allow her to just be a cat and not expect anything more. Her ideal home is without young children, dogs, and multiple cats.

If you can give Millie a safe place to call home, email mdowney@iowatelecom.net for an adoption application.
