Mickie's Story

Meet Mickie! :)

Mickie is estimated to be 6 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated Rabies and 1st round FVRCP, flea treated, dewormed and microchipped. Mickie is very sweet with people and other cats. He has no trouble using the litter box. He's a fairly petite cat.

Mickie showed up in my complex awhile back. I first saw him around May and he moved to another building so I didn't see him again until July when I was able to trap him and get him fixed. I suspect he's been outside for a good while. He had a laceration on his leg that needed a suture and had multiple fight wounds on his body. I witnessed him around a couple tom cats here and I don't think Mickie was the one to start a fight. When he went to the new building, he found a home with a couple of indoor/outdoor cats and he would call for them. He likes cats and would benefit from a cat companion but would also be okay as an only cat. It's obvious that at some point he did live inside with a family. Mickie is a very sweet boy. He loves to eat and is the chattiest cat that I've met - he's always talking.

Unfortunately, due to his outdoor time, he contracted FIV. FIV is akin to HIV in humans. It is only transferable to cats via a bite. Like I mentioned, I don't think he was the one starting fights. He has met multiple cats in foster and has been friendly with everyone. I recommend that adopters read up on FIV. It compromises his immune system so he is more susceptible to infection and illness. However, he can live a long and happy life even with FIV. Living inside will 100% reduce his risk of contracting infections and illnesses that complicate his health.

Mickie's adoption fee is $50. I require potential adopters to meet with me to ask questions and interact with Mickie. I live in S Everett near Mariner HS.
