Micio's Story
Update 6/29/26: Micio's eye is looking fantastic!! We are approaching only needing eyedrops once a day at this point (and it should decrease even further as it heals). She is settling in with us, and although she still does not like being picked up, she is getting increasingly affectionate. She adores sitting and looking out the window, and other than needing eyedrops, will make an easy housemate!

----------------
----------------

Micio is a pleasantly plump little gal who has been enjoying a healthy dose of attention. She will indeed let you know when she has had enough! She enjoys curling up in the scratching post basket and being near the window of the SPIN home. She is also very highly food motivated, and although she does not like being picked up, she will quickly run back to her cage when food is delivered there.

If you look carefully at Micio's photos, you will see signs of her tough upbringing. One of the things you will notice is that her left ear is clipped, indicating that Micio was an outdoor cat that was once trapped, neutered, & released back into the wild. In fact, it was a kind person who fed and befriended Micio that managed to get her to SPIN in search of a real forever home! The other sign that betrays Micio's rough start is a cloudy right eye, that is now greatly improved, but is the consequence of a chronic disease called eosinophilic keratitis. Fortunately, it is now diagnosed, being treated, and healing! Micio will most likely need eyedrops for the rest of her life to stave off the effects of this chronic condition.

If you think you are the type of person who would be willing to administer eyedrops to Micio every couple of days, and in return get an eternally grateful, sweet companion that could finally share a more comfortable life with you, please let us know! You can visit Micio during open adoption hours at the SPIN home.

---------------

Stray Pets In Need (SPIN) has weekly open adoption hours where you can drop in and meet our cats at 5 Overbrook Terrace, Natick, MA Fridays 5-7pm and Saturdays/Sundays 3-6pm.

If you are thinking of adopting Micio or any other of the SPIN kitties, before you come by consider first filling out an application to speed up the process:
www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoption-application.

All of our available cats are listed at: www.straypetsinneed.org/adoptions/adoptable-pets.

We look forward to meeting you and your family!
