MERLIN's Story

Merlin – ID #18890 – Kennel #664 – Arrived May 10th (Stray) – Domestic Medium Hair Mix – Black – Male – Approx. 9–12 Months Old – 9.3 lbs (Estimated Adult Weight: 10–13 lbs) – Will Be Neutered Prior to Adoption – Up to Date on Vaccines – FIV/FeLV Negative

Meet Merlin, an approximately nine-to-twelve-month-old black Domestic Medium Hair mix who arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on May 10th. He is a breathtaking cat — jet black from head to tail, with a soft, semi-long coat, a magnificently plumed tail, and a pair of vivid golden eyes that seem to glow. His name suits him perfectly: there is something undeniably magical about him.

Merlin came in as a stray, so his full story is unknown — but he is young, he is beautiful, and he has his whole life ahead of him. At roughly nine to twelve months old, he is still coming into himself, with that slightly wispy, adolescent quality that tells you the most striking version of Merlin is still on its way.

Black cats are among the most overlooked in shelters, passed over time and again for no good reason. Merlin deserves better than that. Those golden eyes, that dramatic coat, that regal presence — this is a cat who would be the crown jewel of any home lucky enough to have him.

Merlin is FIV/FeLV negative, up to date on his vaccines, and will be neutered prior to adoption. He is young, he is stunning, and he is ready for a home that will see him for exactly what he is — something truly special. If you have been waiting for a cat worth believing in, Merlin is your answer.

Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
