Mercedes (bonded w Dobby)'s Story

Mercedes was found crossing a busy five-lane highway to eat out of a dumpster outside an auto parts store. After watching her avoid cars on the busy road, the employees at the store managed to trap Mercedes and brought her to FUR.

Mercedes is VERY shy, and takes a long time to get comfortable with new people. She loves other cats, and her best friend is another foster cat named Dobby. Dobby draws her out of her shell and increases her confidence, and she is able to understand his lack of social skills. They would be happiest staying together.

When Mercedes was being spayed, we discovered she had a condition called uterus unicornis, which caused her to be born with only one uterine horn. Her spay surgery was successful, but we also learned that her condition has mildly impacted her kidney function. She is on a special diet to help support healthy kidney function well, and with good care she can live a long and healthy life!

Mercedes and Dobby are living in a foster home, please make an appointment if you would like to meet the
