Meow's Story
Intake date 4/23/26
Meow is a voluptuous tabby cat that we have here in the shelter for about three months now.
She is getting on to be a senior lady, about six years old. She is spayed and is up-to-date on her vaccinations.
Meow, we believe, lived a sheltered life before her elderly owner passed away and family could not keep her. She hardly would come out from the corner of her kennel at all the first two months that we had her here.
And the last two weeks shes really opened up and come around. Shes accepting a friendly gentle hand for petting and she comes up when you bring her something good to eat.
Shes not ready to be picked up yet. Wherever she goes, shes gonna need a long time to be able to just get comfortable and decompress.
We think the best person for her will be an adult or a couple of adults or a senior citizen that dont ask too much of her. Some volunteers have floated the idea that shes grieving or traumatized from the sudden change in her life.
We dont think shell be a good fit for a noisy or high activity environment; a quiet, calm household will be best.
Do you or anyone you know would be able to help Meow out get out of the shelter and into a comfortable safe home?
Come meet her, see if shes the kitty for you
Please share if you know someone that may be interested.
Calhoun County Humane Society
106 Haley Ln., Port Lavaca, TX
361. 553. 8916.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1012166608193742
