Melody's Story

*** Melody is in our PetSmart Aero adoption center. ***

Melody #11916: brown/black tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 3/21/16

Cats: must be solo
Dogs: no
Children: quiet adult home

BACKGROUND: Melody first came to The Rescue House as a kitten and was adopted into a loving home. Years later, a situation with a complicated move meant that her adopters could not take her with them, and she returned to our care to find a new guardian to love her.

PERSONALITY: Melody is a very affectionate cat who has been nicknamed "Vampire Kitty" because her time of day is most often the night. (Daytime is for napping.) Once she is fully settled into an environment and knows her person, Melody loves to rub her face on your hand and will give you the cutest little purr. She’ll chase a feather wand and "hunt" the Greenies treats you toss for her. Melody loves to be with her person lying on the bed, couch, and the floor next to you and sometimes on your lap. She is most comfortable when you are sitting or lying down rather than looming over her. If you bring out the brush, she’d be delighted! Melody is a cat who startles very easily and can get stressed by change. She’ll want a safe spot where she can retreat if there’s an unexpected noise or sudden movement, and she likes to keep her paws under her own control. For the person who understands these needs and offers unconditional love, she’ll blossom into such a sweet companion kitty!

COMPATIBILITY: Melody needs to be an only pet without any other cats or dogs. She does best in a calm environment without children or too much activity.

Gentle and loving, Melody is ready to create beautiful music with her adopter!
