When she arrived at her foster home, she was overweight, unhappy, and so frightened that she hissed at everything around her. But underneath that nervous exterior was a girl who clearly wanted to be loved.<br/><br/>It didn't take long for Pumpkin to discover that she was safe. Within just a few days, she was nervously nuzzling her foster parents' hands. Then came the requests for pets. And before long, Pumpkin was crawling into their laps for affection. <br/><br/>She's now been with her foster parents for more than a year, and she has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate girl who knows exactly what she likes. She jumps right onto the bed to see her foster dad, loves snuggling beside him, makes biscuits next to him, and happily sleeps by his side.<br/><br/>And don't let her relaxed demeanor fool you—Pumpkin still has a playful side! She enjoys chasing toys, especially a feather on a string and the ever-popular Red Dot. She has excellent litter box manners and eats dry food.<br/><br/>Pumpkin can still be a little nervous when life changes unexpectedly, such as being moved to an unfamiliar room. For that reason, we believe she'd be happiest as the only cat in her home, where she can be the center of someone's world and continue to thrive.<br/><br/>After more than a year of waiting, Pumpkin is ready for the part of her story we've all been hoping for: a forever home. <br/><br/>Could you be the person who shows this beautiful ginger girl that she's finally home?<br/><br/>You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us. <br/><br/>We accept online/electronic credit or debit card pre-payments for adoptions (no cash).<br/><br/>NOTE: Please do not ask us to HOLD a cat/kitten for you. Our space is very limited as we don't have a facility. <br/><br/>Laurel Cats does not have a shelter or storefront. Our kittens and cats are placed in the homes of loving volunteer fosters until they are adopted. This means our cats are accustomed to being handled and loved.
