Meeko's Story

Meet Meeko, a beautiful brown tabby with the biggest green eyes and luxurious long hair! Well, not at the moment. Meeko was found as a stray and unfortunately didn't have access to a brush out in the wild. This resulted in her coat becoming extremely matted, so when she eventually made her way to the shelter, most of her body had to be shaved. Slowly but surely her hair is growing back while she waits for her new perfect family to bring her to their warm house, preferably with lots of pets to give and plenty of brushes to make sure Meeko can keep her beautiful brown hair in the future! Come by the Humane Society to meet Meeko and reassure her that in time, her hair will grow back better than ever.

We are currently operating by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting a new pet, please visit our website at https://www.hsdcohio.org/adoptable to complete an application. Once it is processed, one of our staff members will give you a call to discuss the animal you are interested in meeting. If it is decided the animal is a good match, an appointment will be scheduled at that time. Staff try to make the best match possible for both the animal and the adopter. An individual must be at least 18 years old and reside within the state of Ohio. As an adopter, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and any leasing restrictions, if appropriate.
