Mazzy (with the cool tail)'s Story
Mazzy came to us as an owner surrender at the end of March (with two other cats. One is getting adopted already! The other is a gorgeous calico named Kiki.)

He can be easily identified by the unique ridge of fur on his tail that sticks out.

It took Mazzy like 1.5 weeks to adjust to his foster home, and now that his personality is coming out now, we're learning how goofy he is (and how sweet!!). He's a bit clumsy and often looks alarmed and jumps like a rabbit sometimes and even his back toes are spread out in a way that is funny to me.

But don't be fooled: he's actually pretty smart! And he's more vocal now that he's more comfortable here.

He loves exploring and also loves playing with water, for example: dipping his paw in the water bowl and then licking the water off his paw. He hangs out in a little bed-cave in a way that reminds me of a moody teen in his room. (But it's super fair to be moody about a big transition to a new home/ new family!) He also loves being pet and purrs a lot:)

He's perfectly healthy and is only a year old. He's currently 14lb (a big boy)-- but he doesn't seem to overeat so we think he just needs to play/explore more.

His previous owner said he loved playing with his cat buddies, but we're thinking he could thrive on just human attention as well. Either way, it seems like he would prefer a household that is on the quieter side / that is lower energy.

If you'd like to meet Mazzy, see our adoption process below:

1) Fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofelines.org/adopt
2) Meet with the cat in their foster home
3) If you and the cat are a match then we will set a take home date 1-7 days after the meeting depending on schedules.

All cats and kittens adopted through Friends of Felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on FVRCP vaccinations and rabies shots (if old enough). Mazzy tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

** We are not able to hold cats for a particular family longer than about 7 days, unless the cat is available for pre-adoption which will be noted on their profile. Please wait to apply until you are ready to take a cat home. **

We are a completely foster-based nonprofit rescue run by volunteers. We do this work out of love<3
