Mazie and Milo (bonded pair)'s Story

Mazie and Milo are a bonded pair that are looking for an adult, pet-free forever home! They are both 6 years old and have been together since they were kittens. Mazie (calico) is a purebred Cornish Rex and Milo (gray and white) is a purebred Devon Rex. These are both high-maintenance breeds that require daily grooming. Mazie is special needs because she had a mild, genetic form of HCM. She has seen a board-certified cardiologist and does not need medication at this time, but will need annual echocardiograms to monitor her condition. Milo does not have any health conditions but he's working very hard to lose weight as he is considered obese for his breed. We have taken away his kibble as he was used to free-feeding and could not stop himself from overeating. He's on a good path and becoming more energetic, his next home will need to help continue his progress. They are both neutered, vaccinated and have had recent blood panels. Now that we've gotten health out of the way, let's talk personalities! Mazie is an active, affectionate diva who is THE BOSS! She needs to be involved in everything and likes to sit directly on your chest. She is quite the snuggler. Mazie gets along well with Milo but she has been very reactive to other cats in her foster home, and at this time we feel she would do best in a home with only Milo and no other pets. We affectionately refer to Milo as our sweet grump! He takes time to warm up, but once you've won him over, he is very clingy. He likes to sit on your lap and requires much more emotional support than Mazie does. Both cats want to sleep in the bed with you and they will stay there all night. Due to their breeds and health history, we will need to be very selective of their forever home. Preference will be given to those who are local (NJ-based) with breed experience or HCM experience. Someone in the vet-med industry would be ideal but not required. A vet reference will be required to adopt this bonded pair.

To Apply, complete an application here: https://forms.gle/Tep1J4LTi12PjPuCA

For questions, please email here: jerseyaws@gmail.com
