May<br/>If you’ve been following my adventures since I first arrived at the HSHC in August 2025, then you may need a little update to my chronicle. To recap: In August 2025, I was strolling around West Park in Carmel when this perfect stranger offered me a ride to the HSHC. Ordinarily, I stay away from strangers. However, I was feeling peckish, so I went along with her. I had no idea where we were going. Once I got there, I was not very happy. Being examined, weighed, poked, and prodded, and expected to remain calm was all too much for this gal! I let everyone know I disapproved of their interference. Nevertheless, I sure enjoyed having room service and housekeeping. I am nearly 3-years old, spayed, and house-trained. After a month in the shelter, the staff figured I would be happier in a home setting. They sent me to my foster mom (FM) in October 2025. Let’s just say she is an expert in handling unhappy customers and gave me plenty of time to warm up. After only four days, I stopped hissing at her. I hid, but I also found myself a lovely window perch. Soon I learned that licky treats are DELICIOUS. I could enjoy them from an extended back scratcher. I began sleeping outside my room when all alone. My room is above my FM. At night, she could hear me playing and scattering my toys around while I had intense zoomies! This smart cookie had a Cat Cam in my room, recording me as I had a blast! I also have a good appetite and use my litter box like a champ. I discovered my favorite toy: a catnip-stuffed platypus. Whoopee! My FM continued giving the interviewer lady (IL) progress updates; for example, I slowly began to sniff FM when we were socializing. I even began to accept some petting. FM has witnessed me making biscuits on my bed. What triggered my latest, incredible breakthrough was being introduced to the resident cats. These cats are welcoming and friendly and were both alumni of HSHC! We soon bonded, and I love playing with them. It has caused me to reassess my whole attitude. I now will seek attention from FM even when the other cats are not present. FM thinks my forever home should have other, friendly cats to ensure my comfort and contentment. The HSHC staff will provide important recommendations to help me successfully transition to your home. Please be patient with me and understand that time, space, my beloved platypus, and a welcome wagon of cats will make all the difference. 7-27-26
