Mavis's Story

Meet Mavis

Hi, Im Mavisyour future tiny panther with a big personality and an even bigger love for cozy routines.

Im an adorable petite 8-year-old whos lived a bit of a story. I used to be an outdoor girl, hanging out in a backyard with my brothers. One decided he was ready for the indoor life, and the other sadly didnt make it. I held my own for a while, but after showing up injured this past winter, I finally came inside... and let me tell you, I have not looked back.

These days, Im all about the simple luxuries: a warm lap, a soft blanket, and settling in to watch TV with you (bonus points if its The Pitt). Im the kind of cat who enjoys doing her own thing, but I absolutely cherish my dedicated snuggle time. Its part of my routineand honestly, I think it should be part of yours too.

Ive got a signature raspy little meow (think lifelong smoker vibesits charming, I promise), and when it comes to wet food? I mean business. I also love being brushedspa days are very important to me.

My ideal home? Quiet, calm, and cozy. Id love big windows to watch the outside world (from a safe distance, of course), a cat tree for my perching needs, and plenty of soft blankets for maximum comfort. Ill need a little time to adjust, but once I know youre my kind of personsomeone who appreciates snuggles and a good showyoull have yourself a loyal, loving best friend.

Id do best in a home with no kids or dogs, and only very chill, respectful cats who understand personal space.

Lets be cozy together,
Mavis

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
