Mavis's Story
Hi there! My name is Mavis and I'm a 10 month old, Female, Domestic Medium hair who is currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home!

At just 10 months old, Mavis is still very much a kitten at heart. She loves toys, enjoys chasing bugs, and is naturally curious about the world around her. When visitors come over, she's often interested in saying hello and checking out what's going on. Mavis previously lived with children and did well with them, enjoying attention and affection from her family. She also got along nicely with another younger cat in the home. Unfortunately, the older resident cat and family dog were not fans of her, and over time Mavis became more shy and withdrawn from the stress of being picked on. Despite that, her loving personality is still there, she just needs a calmer environment where she can feel safe and confident again. In a home without intimidating pets, we think Mavis will blossom back into the outgoing, playful cat she used to be. She enjoys both indoor lounging and supervised outdoor exploring, and would love a home where she has space to play, relax, and soak up attention. She may do well with another friendly, respectful cat companion, but would likely prefer a quieter household without dogs. This pretty girl is looking for someone patient and kind who can help her feel secure and loved. If you're searching for a gentle young cat with a playful side and lots of potential, Mavis may be the perfect fit for your family.

Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777.

When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Hills will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Our adoption fees help support our community programs and the next animal who needs our help!
