Maverick's Story

Maverick is looking for a quiet home that can provide him a low stress environment. Maverick came to us as an owner surrender shortly after a newborn came into the home. The stress of the newborn in the home was too much for Maverick to handle which resulted in inappropriate urinating outside of the litter box and door frame climbing. In the home, Maverick grew up with a labrador but sometimes intolerant shown via swatting and hitting. Maverick could potentially mix in well to a home with a calm dog but we caution on placement into a home with a dog that could create too much stress for Maverick. Maverick can also be overstimulated at times when wanting butt pats. We have seen only a small portion of his stressed behavior when a cat escaped it's enclosure in the rescue. This even stressed Maverick out enough that he was hissing at his kennel run neighbor, Cole, whom he normally likes to paw at. Maverick had a difficult time coming down the stress ladder from this event and needed some time to himself in a separate kennel condo before he could handle being near his neighbor again. Maverick took several weeks to trust us and come out of hiding post-surrender. Now that he is comfortable, he is doing well, has had no accidents, and is ready to find his new home. To adopt; tinyurl.com/AELAdoptionSquadOur adoption process is simple, relationship-centered, and provides supportive education. You can expect your adoption interest to go like this:
1. If the pet is determined to be a good fit with your family by both you and the AEL representative, you will sign your contract, submit your adoption payment, and take your new friend home!

Let us know you're interested here: http://tinyurl.com/AELadoptionsquad
